Former Moss Point High star returns to the Smoothie King Center

A former Moss Point High School star makes a big return to New Orleans.

Phoenix Suns Guard Devin Booker led the Suns to a 138-136 victory Sunday night over the New Orleans Pelicans. He led the team scoring 41 points to go along with 13 assists including the go-ahead free throw with just one second left in overtime.

With Moss Point being just two hours away, Booker tells News 25 it’s always fun playing in New Orleans because he knows he’s going to have the support of all his friends and family. “This feels like home. My family comes here and they come deep too, 50 to 100 people every time. It’s just tremendous support, tremendous love. You know, Coast life, always 228, that’s where I made a name for myself. Those people have held me down since I been in high school and it’s been love ever since so whenever I can come and perform and give them a good show, I try to do my best to do that.”

Booker is one of the hottest players in the NBA averaging 31 points and eight assists over his last five games.
