Former Jackson, George, Greene DA to run for Circuit Court judge

A former District Attorney in Jackson County is announcing his candidacy for Circuit Court judge.

Keith Miller made the announcement on Wednesday for the Place 1 seat, which serves Jackson, George and Greene counties.

“My wife, Sherry, and I, along with our family, would like to announce my candidacy for Circuit Court judge,” Miller said in a press release.

Miller has been practicing law for almost 30 years. In addition to serving as DA, he also was an assistant district attorney, a city prosecutor for Ocean Springs and Moss Point and was a Special Assistant Attorney General.

Miller also has served as director of the Coastal Region Drug Prosecution Unit.

He currently holds the position of Municipal Court judge in Moss Point and has sat on that bench for five years while also maintaining a private practice since 2004.

The primary is scheduled for June 7, with the general election set for Nov. 8.
