GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- A former Gulfport police officer has been charged in a prostitution solicitation investigation.

Gulfport Police Chief Adam Cooper released a letter Friday about the matter, saying Kurwin Smith resigned from his position and is no longer employed by the department.
