Former Biloxi Shucker Freddy Peralta turns in strong start

Just about a week from the start of Major League Baseball season and several former Biloxi Shuckers already rounding into mid-season form, including today’s starter for the Milwaukee Brewers, Freddy Peralta.

He got knocked around a bit, giving up six hits and two earned runs over four innings, but striking out five, looking to build on what was an incredible 2021 in which he allowed the fewest balls hit over 95 miles per hour.

Some other pitching performances this week by former Shuckers, the best of them coming from reigning National League CY Award winner Corbin Burnes who gave up just one hit, one walk, and one run while striking out eight over five innings of work.
