Former Biloxi official faces sex charges

Former Biloxi City Official Cliff Kirkland’s sex crimes trial started today after being delayed earlier this week.

Kirkland faces nine criminal charges, accusing him of fondling three minor girls at his home in Biloxi from August 2013 to July 2017.

Our media partner the Sun Herald reports 22 people are listed as potential witnesses including the three alleged victims, friends and relatives, Biloxi police officers and authorities trained in forensic examinations.

Judge Larry Bourgeois is closing the courtroom to the public while the three alleged victims testify.

According to court records, at the time of the alleged crimes the victims were 9, 11, and 13-years-old.

Kirkland has denied any wrongdoing.
