Florence Gardens a finalist for ‘Nicest Places in America’

Florence Gardens has been selected as “The Nicest Place in Mississippi” by Reader’s Digest and is a “Nicest Places in America 2020” finalist.

Nominated by resident Hope Goldin, Florence Gardens is being recognized for the way neighbors and friends have taken care of each other during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Even in this time of social distancing, our residents have stayed connected by holding outdoor movies on the Town Green, a daddy-daughter dance to celebrate Father’s Day and a Memorial Day celebration complete with a parade of golf carts adorned with patriotic decorations.

On “Music Street”, what began as a series of impromptu music performances by neighbors turned into a full concert series featuring professional entertainers from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Florence Gardens residents wanted to support these local musicians by providing them with the opportunity to play while traditional venues were closed down. They also supported locally-owned restaurants by inviting them to have popup restaurants on the Town Green.

“We’ve really come together,” says Goldin. “COVID-19 really brought us together.”
Florence Gardens is a master-planned community in Gulfport that has four neighborhoods, each with its own distinct personality.

It offers world-class amenities unmatched on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and a wide variety of homesites for any season of life.
