Flights to Houston canceled at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport

All flights to Houston, Texas are canceled out of Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
Today, United Airlines canceled all three flights traveling to Houston from Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport. Harvey is now a tropical storm bringing torrential rainfall to the already flooded Houston metro area. The storm has impacted flight schedules all over the nation.
According to Flight Tracker Flight Aware, more than 1,800 flights were canceled across the United States today. Passenger Jared Robbins said, “I’ve flown standby a couple of times, so I’ve been bumped off flights, but I’ve never had a flight canceled on me. I’d be pretty upset, but I’d rather be safe than take the chance, I guess.”
Passenger Linda Golver said, “Well, it’s not always pleasant when your flight is canceled, but you have to put safety first and protect the lives that are going to be on that airplane.”
The website for George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston says United Airlines is closed until further notice.
