First Responders Honored at Appreciation Dinner

As a way to show respect to first responders in Jackson County, the Pascagoula Keesler Federal Credit Union branch and Hilton Garden Inn gave away awards to men who go above and beyond for their community.
During the inaugural “First Responders Appreciation Dinner”, six men were recognized for their service in the Pascagoula and Moss Point Fire and Police Departments. Each recipient was chosen by their acting department based on what they have done for the community and how much they have helped other officers.
Wade Johnson of the Pascagoula Fire Department was one of the recipients who had no idea he was chosen. “I’ve been a fireman in Pascagoula for almost 11 years now. It’s a huge honor to receive this. The guys are like a family. I can’t say enough about them and how hard they work and how good they are at their jobs,” Johnson said.
This is the first year the Keesler Federal Credit Union has held this dinner but organizers say they plan to continue it for many years to come.
