First dose of vaccines given at Kroc Center in Biloxi

In Biloxi at the Kroc Center, Coastal Family Health Center’s Mobile Clinic distributed their first round of Moderna vaccines today.

Each of the 60 available appointments were already filled for the day. The drive-thru testing set up allowed for nurses to give shots while patients were in the safety of their car.

On site were four nurses, a vaccine provider, and other Coastal Family Health staff to ensure the process runs smoothly.

A lot of residents are having trouble getting appointments due to a high volume of callers, but keep calling all locations until you’re able to get your vaccine. Coastal Family Health Center Marketing and Communications Director Emily Burke said, “We have sixty appointments for today. I’m not sure what the scheduling is for tomorrow, but we are filling up as much that we can possibly staff and have the supply for. My advice to them is it really doesn’t matter to me where you get it. Just as long as you get it. So, I would continue to call all those sources to see where you can get the fastest appointment.”

COVID vaccines will continue at the Kroc Center location in Biloxi each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. Appointment only. Call 877-374-4991 to book your spot.
