First day for golf carts on the roads in Ocean Springs

Today is the first day for golf cart owners to legally hit the roadways of Ocean Springs.

According to an ordinance passed by the city council, golf carts may be operated only on streets with a speed limit of 30 miles per hour or lower except when crossing a road with a higher speed limit.

Proof of insurance is required and golf cart operators can be arrested for DUI.
