First Concert at MGM Park
For months, MGM Park has hosted your Biloxi Shuckers games, now a different type of entertainment will be added under the park lights.
Trombone Shorty, Dr. John and Rosco Bandana will jazz up the stadium for the very first concert at MGM Park. The concert will be on August 29th as part of the ten year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The stage will set up at second base facing the stadium seats. Tickets will go on sale next week.
Mayor Andrew ‘FoFo’ Gilich says this announcement is part of the team’s promise to keep the stadium full of family fun, even when the Shuckers are not playing. “It’s all part of the revenue stream that’s going to make the commitment to the financing of the ball field a little bit easier. So, each one of those concerts, and hopefully they will be equally successful, as we do probably ten events total that we’ll have responsibility for.”
Tickets will be $45 for the 500 seats on the infield and $35 and $25 for other seating.
Mayor Gilich says the city plans to host at least 10 more events inside MGM Park this year.
