First Annual Purple Tie Gala

The Residents at Bay Cove hosted the first annual “Purple Tie Gala” today at the White House Hotel.
The event benefits research for Alzheimer’s disease. Tickets were $60 per person and $100 per couple. There was a silent auction where attendees could bid on items such as a boat trip, Shuckers gear and jewelry.
All funds from the event go toward Alzheimer’s disease programming in the state of Mississippi.
Relations Director for the Residents at Bay Cove Courtney Williams said, “I think that everybody just needs to be more aware of the Alzheimer’s disease and cautious because it’s happening very quickly and I think that everybody needs to be knowledgeable.”
Williams tells News 25 that 16 million American’s have Alzheimer’s today and over 20 million will have it by 2050.
