Firefighters battle house fire in Harrison County

A Biloxi family is surveying the damage after an overnight fire at their home in the Woolmarket area.

Upon arrival at the home off Shorecrest Road, Biloxi fire crews were met with flames coming through the roof of the house.

The fire was put out after a couple of hours with no injuries.

According to the daughter of the homeowners, they turned on a window AC unit before bed and soon afterwards smelled smoke.

The blaze, however, destroyed most of the family’s belongings.

The homeowners are now staying with their son in the meantime.
