Firefighters Battle Blaze at Lemoyne Apts. in D’Iberville
Residents at an apartment complex in D’Iberville were free to go back to their homes Wednesday night after a fire broke out an office building earlier in the day. Fire crews were called out to the Park at Lemoyne building on Gorenflo Road near Lemoyne Boulevard.
Crews got the call around 3:45 p.m. and had the blaze under control within an hour. No injuries were reported. Officials say they were able to contain the fire to just the office building, which badly damaged the roof. Both the D’Iberville Fire Department and Harrison County Fire Services responded to the fire.
Gerald Smith, Fire Chief for the City of D’Iberville, says, “We haven’t had any reports of injuries, none from the people in the office or the first responders. This unit is separated from the other apartments in the community. All residents will be able to get back in their homes and back in their beds tonight.”
There is no official word on what caused the blaze.
