Fire Had No Political Motivation Greenville

The Mississippi fire marshal says investigators don’t see politics as the motivation for the burning of an African church in Greenville. Yesterday, Andrew McClinton was arrested and charged with first degree arson of a place of worship. Today his bond was set at 250-thousand dollars. Back in November a week away from the election, police believe it was McClinton who set fire to hope Missionary Baptist Church then spray painted “Vote Trump” on the side. The 45 year old man is actually a member of the church and does have a prior criminal record. The original investigation did also look into whether the fire was a hate crime.
