Fire destroys vacant home in West Harrison County

Kiln-Delisle Road in West Harrison County near Chemours was shut down for more than an hour when a vacant home burned around 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Thirteen firefighters and eleven units from Harrison County Fire Rescue and CRTC (Airport) responded to the fire.

There were no injuries and the single story wood framed house, which has been vacant for a while, was destroyed by the fire.

The cause of the fire is accidental. A trash pile being burned in the yard, spread to the house because of high winds and set the house on fire.
