Fire Destroys Saucier Home

An early morning fire ripped through a home in Saucier off Highway 49.
Harrison County fire crews arrived on scene shortly after 7 a.m. to flames throughout the single story house. There were no injuries reported and officials believe the home is vacant.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but one thing is well known, the building is a complete loss. Harrison County Fire Chief Pat Sullivan said, “This was a fire that when we got the call it was well involved meaning that there was fire coming out every door, window, and the roof. The units who got here made sure the fire didn’t spread anywhere else, contained it in the structure itself and now we’re hitting the hot spots. We’ll knock out the rest of the fire and then we’ll start our investigative phase.”
There are businesses near the area but no other structures were damaged. Crews extinguished the fire within 15 minutes but stayed on location for over an hour to investigate.
