Finding the perfect Christmas tree

For the most part, the day after Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the Christmas season. People across the Coast are flocking to farms and roadside stands to find the perfect tree.
Robert Anderson has been selling Christmas trees at the corner of Popps Ferry Road and Cedar Lake Road for 22 years and he typically sells around one thousand trees during the holiday season.
Anderson tells News 25 that best part of the Christmas tree business is becoming a part of local family traditions. “Most people buy their trees and they come back every year. They bring their kids and their kids grow up and their kids bring kids and it’s just a cycle. We look forward to people coming and they always show up.”
A tip for first time buyers: after you get your tree home put a fresh cut at the bottom and soak the trunk in water before decorating. This helps to keep the tree fresh for as long as possible.
