Feeling more comfortable on the first night of fall

Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at the week ahead

Tonight stays mostly clear and mild, with a low around 74 and just a slight chance of a shower late this evening.

Wednesday will be another sunny and hot day, with temperatures climbing to around 94 degrees. Thursday will be another warm day in the low 90s, although a few stray showers or thunderstorms could pop up during the afternoon and early evening.

The bigger change arrives Friday, when temperatures only warm into the mid and upper 80s with a northeast breeze. Highs stay mostly in the upper 80s through the weekend and into early next week, with overnight lows falling into the upper 60s to around 70.

Rain chances remain fairly low through the weekend, but a few showers or storms could return Monday and Tuesday as moisture increases. Overall, the next several days look pretty typical for late September, with hot afternoons easing into a more comfortable pattern by Friday.
