Feed my Sheep and Coastal Family Health provided COVID-19 vaccines today

Feed my Sheep partnered with Coastal Family Health to vaccinate Mississippi’s vulnerable homeless population.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Coastal Family Health vaccinated anyone over the age of 18 and administered 100 Moderna COVID-19 vaccines. No appointment or state ID was required for individuals to get the shot.

To make vaccines accessible and convenient for homeless visitors, Coastal Family Health came to Feed my Sheep during lunch time to meet them for the day. Feed my Sheep Executive Director David Lion said, “Very excited about it and reaching this group in particular because it is such a hardship because for them living on the street and just not in healthy conditions most of the time. If they were to get sick, they could be unlikely to get the proper medical care or less likely to get it. It’s great that they’re getting the vaccinations.”

The Coastal Family Health mobile bus will be back at Feed my Sheep for a second round of vaccines April 28th.
