Federally Employed Women Training in Gulfport
A group of women from across the South Eastern United States are gathering on the Coast to promote the welfare of women working in federal government.
The southeastern region of the Federally Employed Women organization has kicked off their regional training conference. The Courtyard Marriot on Highway 90 will be playing host to these women. The local region is made up of 16 chapters within nine states and boasts 600 members.
Conference organizers hope the women attending will take the valuable training they get here on the Coast back to their home states. President of the Magnolia chapter of FEW Deborah Ferguson said, “We hope that they’re going to take away some really good training, some good tools that they can put in their toolbox to help them to go on and further careers and to help women that are coming up behind them.”
Julie Gordon with Middle Tennessee FEW said, “Just having a great group of women that support our cause, we’re very diverse, very culturally diverse. We really enjoy the training we get from our national level.”
This year’s training will last through Friday.
