Fat Tuesday Parades
Most of the city’s Mardi Gras style parties and parades took place over the weekend, but some krewes are saving its good times for Fat Tuesday.
The good times will still be rolling today and tomorrow as many parades will take to the streets all along the Coast. The Mystic Krewe of the Seahorse Parade will be today at 5 p.m. in Bay St. Louis. The parade starts on Bookter Street. Tomorrow, the Gulf Coast Carnival Association Mardi Gras Parade will roll through downtown Biloxi.
City officials want everyone to have a great Mardi Gras they also want to make sure everyone stays safe. Vincent Creel with the City of Biloxi Public Affairs said, “When you park, make sure that you park in a legal spot, respect people’s property, don’t park on the median of Highway 90. So, we are asking you please keep a few things in mind. Arrive early, carpool when you can. If you have young children with you, make sure that you know how they are dressed in case you become separated from them you can tell the police what they are wearing.”
Tuesday, the 11th annual Krewe of Diamonds Parade will also take place in Bay St. Louis at 1 p.m. The 47th annual Krewe of Gemini Night Parade takes place at 5:30 in Gulfport.
