Fantastic Finishes in March Madness

There’s a good reason they call it March Madness.

The Wisconsin Badgers tied with Xavier with just two seconds to play Sunday night for the right to go to the Sweet Sixteen. Wisconsin wins it on a buzzer.

Meanwhile, in Oklahoma City, the aggies of Texas A&M were all but finished, down double digits with just over 30 seconds to play against Northern Iowa. A&M, using the full court press, is able to go on a 14-2 run in the game’s final 31 seconds of regulation, pulling off an impossible comeback in overtime.

Local sports radio host Tommy D tells News 25 he was surprised Texas A&M managed to pull off the win, a victory for the team and Tommy D himself. “I picked Texas A&M to win the game but they got a little lucky, let’s face it. You know what, they didn’t give up so you got to give them credit but year that was a crazy finish. The fact that Northern Iowa was in that situation from hitting the half-court shot to beat Texas a couple of nights before is just insane and that’s the beauty of March Madness.”

The tournament continues Thursday with the Sweet 16, followed by the Elite Eight on Saturday.
