Faith the Beagle Making a Slow, But Sure Recovery

After Faith the beagle made headlines earlier this week, the Jackson County Animal Shelter says it has received an outpouring of donations and adoption offers for the recovering canine, but her adoption won’t be happening anytime soon.

Megen Lowe, the Jackson County resident who tried to capture Faith for five months before she was finally brought in to the shelter, tells News 25 that Faith will not be fully recovered for about a year.

Lowe says, "After she heals from the surgery, we really need to start on the slow process of treating her for heartworms, because she has an advanced stage of heartworms. It’s probably gonna’ take a year to get them to go away."

If you’d like to see Faith’s progress or make a donation, you can visit her Facebook page called Have a Little Faith. Any left over money after Faith’s bills are paid will go towards other animals’ medical needs.
