Exhibit at Gulfport-Biloxi Airport Displays Model of Skiff

A new exhibit showcasing the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum in Biloxi is now on display on the first floor of the terminal at the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport.

On display is a traditional sailing skiff, built by Mike Broussard. The 12 foot replica is modeled after the stable and maneuverable skiffs that were popular in the earlier 20th century. The exhibit at the airport will help inform and educate visitors as they arrive to come celebrate the history, heritage, and culture of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Ashley Duke, Public Relations for the Gulfport-Biloxi Airport, says, "The purpose is to showcase the cultural heritage and history of the museum and hopefully attract tourists flying in to the airport to go visit the museum.”
