Ethelyn Connor Save Our Trees Fund

Ocean Springs encourages community members to get to the root of city improvement. They have adopted a new resolution to establish the Ethelyn Connor Save Our Trees Beautification Fund.
The program is designed for private businesses and residents to make donations to plant and provide for the upkeep of public trees. The fund is in honor of Ethelyn Connor, better known as the Tree Lady, after planting hundreds of oak trees in memory of her husband, former Ocean Springs Mayor Pat Connor.
Ocean Springs Mayor Connie Moran said, “We will have just a couple of broad categories. One will be for tree maintenance and new trees. The other would be for general beautification efforts with shrubs and flowers that you see and people would be able to specify which they would like their funds to go to.”
If you would like to donate to the fund, contact the planning department at 228-875-4415 or the building department at 228-875-6712.
