Enterprise Gas Plant Update

The Enterprise Natural Gas Plant heavily damaged by a June 27 explosion could restart operations before the end of the year. CEO of Houston based enterprise products partners James Teague made the comments Thursday to investors during a conference call. The company has set aside 7 million dollars to repair damage at the Pascagoula Plant, but vice-president of investor relations Randy Burkhalter says that amount might raise. The plant extracts liquids from natural gas, sending gas to users and liquids to plants making propane and butane. Because the plant is not running, some oil and gas platforms in the Gulf of Mexico are limiting production. Some natural gas is being diverted to other pipelines. The U.S. Chemical safety board and the U.S. Occupational safety and health administration continue to investigate the cause of the explosion.
