End-of-Tour Award Ceremony at Naval Construction Battalion Center
An End-of-Tour Award Ceremony was held this morning for Legalman 1st Class James Cameron.
Legalman Cameron had worked at the Naval Construction Battalion Center for the past four years, serving as a paralegal.
During the end of tour ceremony, Legalman Cameron was honored with the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his dedication, leadership, and passion during his time in the Navy in Gulfport.
In a month, he’ll be moving to Naples, Italy with his family to continue his work with the Navy.
When he and his family originally moved to Gulfport, they knew no one and were extremely grateful for how welcoming the community is. “A great part of the experience down here is that no matter where we’ve been or where we’ve went in this area, it’s been open arms and they’ve been very grateful and respectful of the military. We appreciate that as a family that is out of their comfort zone.”
Legalman Cameron was praised for his assistance during Hurricane Zeta, an on-base house fire, and volunteering his time to help with blood and food drives.
