Emergency management update meeting

This morning, Harrison County Emergency Management Director Rupert Lacy was on hand to speak to a room full of Coast business owners about disaster preparedness.

With hurricane season in full swing running from June 1st through November 30th, EMA wants to make sure residents and business owners know how to not only keep their homes safe, but keep their businesses safe as well. This month there have been ten flash floods in Harrison County.

Lacy tells News 25 there are many tips to making sure your business is ready in case of a disaster, but having a contingency plan is the most important. “The employees need to know what the plan is. The question is when will we shut down? How are we going to shut down? What is my contact point? If I leave the area how do I get back in touch with the business?”
