Elks Mardi Gras Parade tomorrow in downtown Ocean Springs

It’s time to get the Mardi Party going in Ocean Springs.

The first parade of the Carnival Season in Ocean Springs will be tomorrow at 1 p.m.

The Ocean Springs Elks Mardi Gras Parade with Krewe Unique will roll the normal parade route down Front Beach through Porter, Washington Avenue, and Government Street.

Barricades are already in place on some parts of the route in preparation.

The city says this is always a very popular parade so make sure to get there early to get a good spot to catch beads, Moon Pies, and more! Ocean Springs Chamber Executive Director Cynthia Dobbs Sutton said, “The day parade for the Elks already has more than 60 entries and growing for this weekend. It’s going to be a fun event. There is a grand marshal for the day parade which is Heather Eason. The second day parade there is another grand marshal which is Matt McDonnell. So people will want to come out to cheer them on and just see the variety of floats that are out here.”

The Elks are set to roll out first and Krewe Unique will follow directly after at 1:30.
