Election Reform Laws Move Forward
Mississippi voters could soon register online and vote in person ahead of elections under bills moving forward in the state Legislature.
House members have passed three bills to rewrite the state’s election laws, a proposal pushed by Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann. One bill would allow voters to register or change their information online instead of by mail or in person. A second bill would allow voters to cast ballots at the county circuit clerk’s office up to 14-days before any election.
The election reform package now moves onto the Senate for more work.
