East Pass Road Closure Due to Two Car Accident

For nearly six hours today, east Pass Road near Debuys Road remained closed as crews worked to clear the area after a two car accident.
According to Gulfport Public Information Officer, Sergeant Damon McDaniel, just after 12 this afternoon, a 90-year-old male driving a Ford Taurus pulled out of a driveway and struck a 49-year-old female driving a Chrysler Sebring. The female lost control of her vehicle and overturned, striking a power pole.
Mississippi Power and Cable One worked to repair the pole and power lines while many residents were without power for hours.
The female driver of the Sebring was transferred to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries.
East Pass Road is now flowing smoothly again.
