East Pascagoula Substation Project moves into phase 2, construction set to start soon

Phase two of the East Pascagoula Substation Project is now underway after the city council awarded the construction bid.

This part of the project will include remaining site work, interior build of the facility, and a fueling depot.

Construction is expected to start within the next 30 to 45 days and the city says it should wrap up early next year.

Phase one, which included the initial site work, a K9 training facility, and a motorcycle training area, was completed in March.

The Pascagoula Police Department is already using these new facilities.

The project is a $3.5 million investment and it’s being funded through legislative and community development block grant funds, result in no debt to the city.
