Eaglepalooza returns to the City of Hattiesburg

Up in the Hub City, a beloved concert series and Southern Miss staple is making a comeback this year.

Eaglepalooza is set to take over the streets of Downtown Hattiesburg on March 28th.  The last celebration was held in 2019.

The event has been on hiatus since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hattiesburg Mayor Toby Barker and Southern Miss President Dr. Joe Paul made the announcement earlier this afternoon. “When Eaglepalooza began some 20 years ago, I am so glad to see it return due to a hiatus due to COVID. In students’ consciousness, it is easy to forget very quickly because those students have graduated. Now to rediscover this great student-driven tradition and town partnership is really an important day for Southern Miss, for Hattiesburg, and for historic Downtown Hattiesburg.”

Mayor Barker said, “I appreciate the Student Government Association, the division of Student Affairs, to all the people who said yes, we need to do this. And finally, to Dr. Paul that when he saw there was a challenge or shortfall, him deciding this is worth it and we have to do it for our students and university. We want this to become one of the biggest weekends for a university in the state.”

Eaglepalooza will kick off Hubfest on March 28th. Briston Maroney is set to headline the night’s entertainment.
