Driver rescued from overturned vehicle in Harrison County

A close call for a driver in Harrison County who was rescued when their car overturned next to a creek.

According to Harrison County Fire Chief Pat Sullivan, crews, along with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, rescued the driver of a car that left the road on East Wortham Road which overturned and landed upside down, just feet from a creek.

The driver received minor injuries.

This was one of numerous accidents that first responders went to as heavy rain and gusty winds pushed on shore from the tropical system.
