Drive-up testing offered in Biloxi Thursday
A drive-up COVID-19 screening and testing will take place in Biloxi Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot of the Biloxi Civic Center on Howard Avenue.
The one-day testing, which is open to all ages, is primarily for those who are experiencing flu-like symptoms, such as body aches, fever, coughing, sneezing, chills, or shortness of breath. Healthcare workers will initially be screening for the flu. Those results will indicate whether to test for COVID-19.
Individuals will be notified of their results in three to seven days.
Those planning to participate in the testing should wear a mask, stay in the vehicle, have your driver’s license or photo ID with you, and, if available, have your insurance card.
According to a representative with Memorial Hospital, the host of Thursday’s drive-up testing, the hospital will seek reimbursement; however, no out-of-pocket expense or co-pay is expected at the time of service. Those without insurance are asked to partner with the on-site staff at time-of-service to review options.
Social distancing will also be observed during the testing, and drivers are asked to be patient, as the drive-up process can be time-consuming.
Those with questions should call the COVID-19 hotline at Memorial, 228-867-5000.
