Drive-up COVID-19 screening and testing at Biloxi Civic Center on Thursday, Apr. 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV) — A temporary Memorial Physician Clinic Drive-Up COVID-19 Screening and Testing site will be available today.
The screening and testing site will be open Thursday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Biloxi Civic Center’s parking lot, located at 578 Howard Avenue in Biloxi.
Memorial Physician Clinics operates seven COVID-19 screening and testing locations. These locations are dedicated to individuals that are experiencing symptoms consistent with influenza and COVID-19, and the clinics have been operational since early March.
Kent Nicaud, President and CEO of Memorial said, “It is our mission to decrease the spread of infection of COVID-19 and to provide services to those that need us most. We want to minimize the barriers individuals may have in seeking medical treatment including travel to and from one of our other clinic locations. Although we are already operating 7 designated COVID-19 sites across the coast, standing up a clinic in a location that is central to residents in East Biloxi is another way we can fight the spread of this disease together.”
Individuals are urged to visit the temporary site if they have been experiencing flu-like symptoms, body aches, fever, coughing, sneezing, chills, or shortness of breath.
Sick individuals are asked to stay in their vehicles and wait for assistance. Social distancing will be observed. For patients that have insurance, Memorial will seek reimbursement, however, no out-of- pocket expense or co-pay is expected at the time of service.
Those without insurance are asked to partner with the clinical staff at time-of-service to review options.
Only individuals exhibiting symptoms that meet medical criteria during the screening process will be tested for COVID-19.
