Dr. Seuss Celebration at Lynn Meadows Discovery Center
March 2nd may have passed but people are still celebrating the birth month of famous children’s book author Dr. Seuss.
Kids and parents from around the Coast gathered for a special visit with the “Cat in the Hat” at the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport. Read Across America partnered with Mississippi Public Broadcasting to put on the celebration of Dr. Seuss. The famous author passed away in 1991. He would have been 112 this year.
It was a morning full of dancing, singing, hands-on activities and reading. Parent Lena Jordan said, ““The Cat in the Hat,” they got up there and they danced and they made it very interactive for the kids. They stood up and they danced and singing along and everyone had a very good time. The parents were participating as well. That was really fun.”
