Downtown for the Holidays canceled in Pascagoula

The holiday Christmas event ‘Downtown for the Holidays’ in Pascagoula was canceled due to the rise of COVID numbers.

The event was scheduled for tomorrow, December 4th, but Pascagoula Mayor Steve Demetropoulos announces its cancelation due to the potential spread of COVID-19.

To keep everyone safe during these hard times, it’s best not to host an event that could bring hundreds of people to downtown Pascagoula. “A public health advisory was sent out today to cancel all other social events were there’s large gatherings of peoples, sports events, family gatherings, weddings and so I’m here with a sad heart to say we’ve had to cancel Downtown for the Holidays. We put a lot of work into this and we so wanted to have it available but out of an abundance of caution we don’t want to be the source of any one getting sick and with the potential of having hundreds of people congregating together we just didn’t feel like it was the right thing to do.”
