Disabled Veterans Receive Special Bikes

Two disabled veterans will now be riding in style thanks to a generous donation.
AMBUCS is a veteran cycle program that looks for restaurants and local clubs to help them raise money to give disabled vets bicycles made specifically for them.
Today the Ole Biloxi Marching Club and Adventure’s Pub and Spirits donated the money to AMBUCS who then gave two bikes to local veterans.
One of these veterans is Timothy McGill. He suffers from brain and back injuries and uses a cane for stability. The bike he was given allows him to sit low to the ground to pedal so he doesn’t lose his balance. “It’s great actually. I’m really excited to get to receive this bike. I’ve been riding for a while. I ride with other organizations and it’s going to help me really progress in what I want to do.”
Gordy Brigman, Mid-South coordinator for AMBUCS, said, “We work directly with the recreational program at the hospital and we have them select the vets.”
AMBUCS has given away 400 therapy cycles to disabled veterans all over the country.
