Disabled runners getting ready to race

A local group that helps disabled athletes run is warming up for a race this weekend.
He might not be able to run on his own, but that’s not stopping 25-year-old Logan Macdonald from making strides.
“It allows our running community to see that just because we do things a little differently doesn’t mean they can’t do it.”
Non-profit organization Ainsley’s Angels is a group that helps Logan and other disabled athletes compete in races all across the Coast, sharing one mission. “We believe in everyone together.”
Together, athlete riders pair up with local runners working as a team all the way to the finish line. “We bring the community together so folks like Logan and Willie can participate with people who otherwise may believe they couldn’t.”
Beth Victoriano started the non-profit’s South Mississippi branch three years ago. “I wanted to bring a little positive into the community and with this I can bring happiness and joy into people’s lives.”
It’s the smiles, friendships, and heart-touching moments that keeps the group gliding ahead. “It reminds us that there’s still some good people out in the world.”
The group is getting ready for the St. Patrick’s Day 5K race in Biloxi this Saturday. “This race is actually a first for quite a few of our athletes.”
