D’Iberville State of the City
A new sports complex is on its way to completion in D’Iberville, just one of the many things citizens have to look forward to. Today, Mayor Rusty Quave addressed about 100 people, updating them on all things D’Iberville.
City Manager Clay Jones tells News 25 the sports complex is a $9 million investment that will have four softball and baseball fields along with four multi-purpose fields. He also says added parking spaces under the I-110 will provide safer parking for boaters.
Jones also says D’Iberville, for the first time, will tap into eco-tourism with a park near Riverside Drive including kayaking, Frisbee golf and more. “We have a lot of development going on, but again it goes back to we’ve got to maintain our infrastructure, our roads have to be healthy to keep all these people coming in and our citizens have to be happy with what we’re doing. We really want to grow upon our recreational activities in the city and that’s what we’re doing with this.”
The sports complex is set to open mid-July with the opening of the Riverside Drive Park following soon after.
