D’Iberville Says Finances Look Better Than Previous Years

While the official budget has not yet been approved by the City Council, D’Iberville officials say their city’s financial situation is looking better than recent years.

If the proposed budget is passed, D’Iberville residents would see no increase in taxes and city employees would see a pay raise. A serious economic boom in the city has greatly increased revenue, and with the Scarlet Pearl construction underway, the city hopes to see even more revenue in future years.

Bobby Eleuterius, City Manager for D’Iberville, says, “Also about our budget, which turned out really good this year. We’ve got no increase in water/sewer, no increase in taxes, everything is maintaining, plus we’re able to give our employees a nice raise. So everything is doing really well for us.”

Eleuterius addressed D’Iberville business leaders Wednesday with this news at a bimonthly business meeting. Any business leaders in D’Iberville interested in being a part of the meetings can come on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month at 11:30 a.m. at Cafe New Orleans.
