D’iberville Police Department Patrolling Around the Clock This Weekend-

The Fourth of July is one of the most heavily travelled holidays all year. That’s why the D’iberville Police Department will be patrolling around the clock to ensure safety on the roads.
The extra patrol is funded by a government DUI grant. Chief Wayne Payne says the police department will also increase this time of the year.
Captain Terry Hines, commander of operations for the D’iberville Police Department, said “For this holiday weekend, we’re going to have safety checkpoints. Tonight and we’re also going to have set DUI saturation patrol on Saturday night. We’re also going to have units out on the river ensuring people on boats enjoy the water on the river safely this weekend.”
Captain Hines says the chief also wants to remind everyone that shooting fireworks in city limits is illegal. If you do shoot fireworks, make sure it is at a reasonable hour and you area being extremely cautious.
