D’Iberville Plays Hand At Second Casino
After the recent purchase of the “Royal D’Iberville Casino” site, a second casino could be in the works for the city.
The land, purchased by “The Poarch Creek Indians” gaming authority, operates multiple casinos in Alabama.
If this company decides to construct a casino, it would not qualify for tax exemptions.
This is due to the fact that the property is “private land” and not “reservation land”.
Therefore, the PCI would still be required to pay school, city and state taxes.
According to D’Iberville city manager, Bobby Eleuterius, this location has been a proposed casino site for the past 22 years.
