D’Iberville man faces charges after gun accidentally discharges, kills neighbor
A D’Iberville man has been charged with manslaughter in the death of a neighbor at his apartment complex.
D’Iberville Police Chief Shannon Nobles said police got a 911 call about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday from Eric Adams, 35, who said he was putting his weapon away when it unexpectedly discharged.
Officers who responded to Landmark Apartments found that the bullet from the weapon had entered the adjacent apartment of Stayvia Leone Hood, 23, who was hit and died at the scene.
Adams was charged with manslaughter – culpable negligence and taken to the Harrison County jail on a $500,000 bond pending an initial appearnce before Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain.
