D’Iberville High Academic Signing Day
You heard of signing days that usually picture an athlete signing a commitment to a school for a scholarship to play a sport there.
Today, at D’Iberville High School it was those with academic achievements time to shine. The entire school celebrated during a pep rally while 120 students signed their scholarships. The scholarships ranged from $1,000 all the way up to $446,000, that one going to a student excited to start the next chapter of his life with the Air Force Academy.
Cooper Ramos was accepted into the Air Force Academy. He said, “They don’t just teach academics like other colleges. They teach you how to be a leader and it’s similar in that aspect to a college ROTC program except it’s much more rigorous because it’s not just something you go to some classes and you wake up in the morning. It is day in and day out your life as an Air Force Academy cadet. It’s supposed to be an incredible challenge and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Cooper was nominated by Congressman Steven Palazzo to attend the extremely competitive military academy.
