Diamondhead City Council meeting

A special meeting of the Diamondhead City Council was held this afternoon to discuss and take action regarding the security of city information as it relates to city email and city personnel.
The city hall meeting then turned into a town hall meeting due to not enough people attending for a quorum. Since no action was taken, Mayor Tommy Schafer says there will be more city council meetings and he believes there is now a good plan on how to keep the e-blast e-mails private. “A state agency has found a way to do it. I think Diamondhead can find a way to do it and I think that’s what everybody wants. I think there’s a certain level of expectations in the community that the city is not going to give out their e-mail lists.”
One resident spoke out about this meeting being politically motivated just days before the election in which Mayor Schafer says it was a smear campaign against him.
