Deputies Cleared in Car Chase Shooting in D’Iberville

A Biloxi grand jury has cleared the Jackson County sheriff deputies who shot a woman during a car chase late last year.
A partial grand jury report states that after a full and deliberate consideration of all the facts leading up to the October 24th shooting of Catrick Moye-Howell, the grand jury finds no criminal conduct on behalf of the officers involved.
Howell, the 35-year-old Alabama native, was in the ICU unit at Merritt Medical Center in Biloxi after being shot twice by deputies. She was a passenger in a truck that was stolen from Mobile with a tag that was stolen in D’Iberville.
Thirty-one year-old Daniel Young Jr. from Mobile was driving the truck on I-10 when deputies tried to pull him over. The high speed chase continued as Young drove to Lamey Bridge Road, hit a metal guard rail, and slammed into a D’Iberville police car.
