Democrat Candidates to Face Off to Run for Waveland Mayor

Two city officials are facing off in the Waveland democratic runoff for Mayor.

Fire Chief Mike Smith and building official, Brent Anderson, beat out five other candidates and will go head to head on November 21st. Both believe their experience in city government will make them the best candidate to go into the general election December 2nd.

Anderson says, "We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us. I just want to express to the people and continue that I have the knowledge and aggression to move our city forward, and I’m going to have to continue door to door to get that word out."

Smith says, "I think now it’s time to take it to the next level. This previous Mayor and board done an excellent job with taking the city from a million dollar deficit to a $3 million surplus. I think that’s fantastic and I think we can continue those steps forward."
